An effective home remedy for anything can and should transcend the usual image of messy poultices whipped up from exotic vegetables in the kitchen blender. There is no limit to inventiveness on this one: potatoes, basil, garlic, vinegar, lemon and lime juice and even toothpaste have all been tried. Various levels of success have also been claimed. Basically, anything that does not involve prescription medicine or surgery and can be safely utilized without medical supervision is considered a home remedy.

Tea tree oil- According to the dermatologists, tea tree oil can be safely used at home. Nothing has been confirmed yet as the question of its direct application is still debatable. As tea tree oil causes the secretion of extra sebum so skin must be washed very carefully after a certain time.

Steam your face- This opens up the pores. wash your face with a mild soap to preserve the needed oils for your facial skin. Wash your face with cold water as this will close the open pores, otherwise the dirt will enter into your skin thereby damaging it badly.

Apply either fresh mint juice or a mixture of turmeric powder along with mint juice to your oily face and rinse it off with lukewarm water after 20 to 30 minutes for prevention of outbreak of pimples and acne. Fruits can be used as a natural exfoliant and are also fight acne by eating them. Using a 1/4-1/2 cup of pineapple put in blender with small bit of lemon juice. Smooth evenly on your face and let sit for 10-15 minutes then rinse with cold water. This will make your face glow as well.

Acne Lemon Juice: You can either apply lemon juice onto your skin or drink it. Both will help you reduce blemishes and scars externally and internally. I have tried both applications of lemon juice and can confirm that my pimples was greatly reduced within 3 weeks.
