acne treatment
Acne is very common amongst teenagers. People use numerous acne treatments like herbal, homeopathic, antibiotic medicines, lotions, homemade medicines etc. Everyone uses some different treatment for acne. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. There are a lot of misconceptions about acne and its treatment. There are different stages of acne and each stage requires different types of treatment.

If you are using some treatment for acne whether it be herbal or some homemade remedy and you don’t see any progress in the treatment then you should immediately see a dermatologist. One thing should be kept in mind that acne treatment is not often a one day process. It can take a long time to cure, sometimes even a few weeks to show some initial improvement. Sometimes a dermatologist can suggest some vitamins along with acne treatment to help get better results. Remember that all types of acne are curable so do not worry at all.

The initial stage of acne is very mild and it can be treated with any mild acne face wash along with some over the counter medicine like benzyl peroxide. These types of medicine kill bacteria and help to prevent acne. Proper skin care is very essential in acne treatment. Acne can appear on different parts of the body like arms, neck, back and shoulders. Facial acne is most easy and convenient to treat as compared to other parts of the body.

If acne covers half of your face then you are suffering from moderate acne. At this stage you should consult a dermatologist immediately in order to avoid acne from further spreading. Acne is very depressing for youngsters as they can lose their self confidence and they stop feeling good about their physical appearance. If acne is not treated at this stage than there are chances that acne will leave scars on your skin. At this stage a dermatologist can suggest more than one type of treatments like extraction, light therapy, topical creams etc. in accordance with the acne condition.

The last stage of acne is very depressing for the patients as their pimples and zits increase tremendously. Sometimes pus filled pimples might appear on the skin. At this stage skin is intensively damaged. Dermatologists will use very rigorous treatment during this stage due to the fact that acne has penetrated deep into the skin. Antibiotics are used in this stage to prevent permanent scarring and other treatments like drainage techniques and surgical incision can also be used depending on the severity of the acne.

It is important that you get all the information required during your acne treatment. Acne should be treated at initial stages. You should not wait for the acne to get worse and then contact the doctor. This delay can sometimes cause permanent scars on your skin. Don’t do experiments with your skin as they can damage your skin for the lifetime.

zits
The psychological harm acne or Zits causes it’s many sufferers should not be underestimated; treatments however, are slowly improving. The number of people afflicted around the world is huge so science research is making advances; this is good news with the range of effective skin care treatments improving all the time. Acne skin care products all fall into one of three main categories:

*Preventive

*Over-the-counter: Treatment

*Prescription: Dermatologist or Doctor, specialist cream or ointment

Probably the largest part of the skin care market is products designed to clean the skin and inhibit the formation of acne; this sector deals with skin creams, lotions and cleansers that can help stop the problem. Many people these days use products like this to maintain their skin; there use is not just confined to individuals who are suffer with the complaint.

More specialized cleaners are designed in the same way as acne skin care products; they work by limiting the production of sebum/oil and prevent clogging of skin pores. These products prevent the oil from getting trapped in pores and can hamper the growth of bacteria, this can lead to the bad skin condition.

This type of skin care treatment also includes those which exfoliate such as skin peels; these are easily obtainable in any drug store. They work by reducing oil plus other contaminants from the skin and in the pores; this can reduce harmful bacteria and stop their chance of growth.

The growth of the skin care market has allowed even more specialized acne skin care products to be available without the need to visit the doctor. Most of these creams etc. are based on benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, both of which are the enemies of bacteria (and hence acne); these include products which extract the unwanted oil from the skin.

It is preferable when you first start using this type of product to keep the concentration of it low, around 5.5 percent is best; should a reaction occur, products containing alpha hydroxy acid are generally safer. You might have to try a few different creams or lotions before you find the acne skin care product that is effective for you’re skin; however, if nothing you try seems to work, you should contact a dermatologist. If you do need to see your doctor or skin care specialist then he may give you a prescription for antibiotics or special ointments.

Your doctor can recommend that in order to extract the contents of the pustules that a small surgical procedure could be carried out; never try to squeeze your zits however, as it can lead to permanent damage of your skin. Hormone treatment might be suggested as hormone changes can cause skin problems; studies show that hormone based skin care treatments often prove effective. There is no longer any reason to despair if you have this skin complaint or are prone to its effects.
